Nathan (human) whose life has been leading to this point of being watched for 5 years by the Alpha Werewolf Shifter, Buck, and eventually picked up by him one night on the road. Marked for love is a good read a lit different but good non the less give it a read see what you think
For a first book this wasn't so bad. The story is compelling, and the characters are good. For what it is this book is great.
Written in 1st person it starts a bit weird, but still kind of believable. Nathan was left behind in the middle of a rainy night by a man he had thought to be a friend, but who actually left with all his belongings. He is offered a hike while he is trying to reach the city walking. It is hinted that this man is his mate (as other writers would probably call it) and that he has been following him since Nathan was 16. Too short to tell if this will be a good story at the end, since there is not actually an end to this one, just a huge cliffhanger. There are obviously two more parts out already. This one does not really tell where the story is heading, except that Nathan seems to be lusted after by others. No respect for a claimed mate, it seems.

A great book, Jamie always writes amazing books. This is a short read that ends in a cliffhanger, but it's a great read. Check this and all his books out.
If you like your settings filled with tension so palpable it practically leaps off the page, you'll love this book.
Nathan is picked up as he's hitchhiking and the feelings rolling off his rescuer have him confused, terrified and attracted in equal measures.
It's only later he discovers they've had a previous encounter but that isn't as reassuring as it should be. Especially when Buck recounts what happened when Nathan was sixteen.
While some elements of this story really worked for me, and overall this was a nice, steamy werewolf mating story, some elements were just too over-the-top, rushed, or just not particularly rewarding. The attraction of multiple wolves to Nathan made of plenty of conflict, but his attachment to Buck after just one heated but not necessarily deep or meaningful scene seemed rather forced. It's not a bad read if you don't mind a little build-up at the beginning, followed by more intense action (including some heat for the couple as well as a decent amount of werewolf violence).
